Warzone 2 Leak Reveals Aesthetics of New Map to be 'More Like Blackout'

A new leak from industry insider Tom Henderson has revealed information about the feel of the Warzone 2 map.

Earlier today, Wednesday, May 18, credible insider Tom Henderson (@_Tom_Henderson_) took to his Twitter profile to publish information regarding the next Call of Duty map. Slated for Warzone 2, this map is meant to be a marked departure from the current aesthetics of Warzone — instead, bringing in aspects from Black Ops 4. One map, in particular, may make a spiritual return to the franchise apart from its mobile debut.

"To be honest, the new Warzone 2 map looks more like Blackout than it does Warzone in terms of its layout," Henderson wrote, "It's going to be interesting to see how all of this plays out."

Warzone 2 Map May Echo Blackout Rather than Verdansk or Caldera

Players seemed intrigued by the possibility of a revival. One of the primary features spoken about in the tweet's comments was swimming and how it would affect gameplay in Warzone 2. Others worried about whether this would affect the game's formula and potentially destroy its desirability.

"So disappointing if true," wrote user boombayea90, "Warzone’s winning recipe is being completely altered. Change up one thing, not everything. Really hope they don’t get this wrong but if what you say is true I imagine we’re heading to an hybrid cod/apex :("

There is no official word from Activision or Raven Software on what a Blackout-like map would look like and, unfortunately, due to the threat of DMCA, Henderson cannot draw it out for interested fans.

More information will likely be revealed as the release draws closer. Players are encouraged to keep their eyes on credible informants and trusted news sources for more.
