Though Modern Warfare 2 hasn't quite released in full yet, players are still looking ahead to the start of Season 01. Here's what you need to know.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is about to enter its campaign early access period. Kicking off tomorrow, Oct. 20, players who pre-ordered the game gain access to the campaign a week before the full launch on Oct. 28. But, Modern Warfare 2's Season 01 won't be available on the launch date. Instead, it will launch a little bit later alongside Warzone 2.0, DMZ, and Battle Royale modes.
When Does Modern Warfare 2 Season 1 Start?
Modern Warfare 2 Season 01 will begin on Nov. 16, 2022. From Oct. 28 up until Nov. 15, the game is officially in its pre-season state. During this time, players can level through the Military Ranks to unlock all base Loadout items, complete each Weapon Platform’s progression tree to unlock all weapons and attachments, and progress through each Special Ops Kit’s tier system ahead of Season 01.
On Nov. 16, Warzone 2.0, DMZ and Modern Warfare Season 01 will go live. Additional content will become available, including the return of a fan-favorite map and additional Special Ops missions.
Season 01 Reloaded will swing around on Dec. 14, giving the game mid-season refresh and adding in another legendary Multiplayer map.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
