SMITE Gets Slipknot Crossover, Skins, and Music Later This Month

Free-to-play MOBA Smite is getting a chaotic crossover with Slipknot, bringing music and exclusive skins to the battle game.

In what might be one of the wildest crossovers to grace a free-to-play game, Slipknot will be making their way to Smite. All nine members of the iconic metal band will be available as playable characters in specially designed skins.

The crossover is expected to go live with the game's next update which, at the time of writing, doesn't have a confirmed release date. However, Smite's 9.5 update livestream will be broadcast on via Twitch on May 11 at 3 p.m. ET. In it will be more details surrounding the upcoming crossover and how the two will be melding together.

Alongside the skins, the crossover will also feature music from the band's extensive back catalog including “Duality,” “Psychosocial” and “The Devil In I”.

Slipknot are perhaps best known for their style, consisting of nine members each donning specially designed masks. Originating from Des Moines, Iowa, the band have had monumental success across their nearly 27-year career. The band's presence in Smite will be split into three different types of gods:

Poseidon

  • Corey Taylor
  • Sid Wilson
  • Craig Jones

Chaac

  • Jim Root
  • Mick Thompson
  • Alessandro Venturella

Raijiin

  • Micheal Pfaff
  • Jay Weinberg
  • Shawn "Clown" Crahan

The upcoming Slipknot crossover will prove to be Smite's biggest music theme to date, marking a great milestone for the famed MOBA.
