Retro Gaming Fans Can Snag a Glow-in-the-Dark Analogue Pocket

The Analogue Pocket is a nifty little device that can play Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance cartridges without the use of emulation. And while some buyers are still waiting to receive their Pockets (Analogue says all orders will be shipped by the end of this week), the company today tipped a new, glow-in-the-dark variant.

Dubbed the Analogue Pocket Glow, the device is the same as the original with the notable exception of being made out of glow-in-the-dark plastic. The Pocket Glow charges its glow under almost any type of light. Once fully charged up, as Analogue puts it, the nuclear green glow should last for about eight hours. During the day, the device is just a normal green color.

The gaming device has some fun features for retro gaming fans. It not only plays old Game Boy-era games directly from the original cartridge, but it can also dock your TV and includes filters that emulate the old Game Boy look and feel. There are also optional adapters for the Atari Lynx, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and TurboGrafx-16 consoles for additional retro gaming. It can also still do emulation if you really want it to.

Analogue states that quantities are highly limited. Preorders start Sept. 1 at 8 a.m. PDT for $249.99, the same price as the regular model. It ships on Sept. 5. Thus, anyone who's interested should set an alarm or risk missing out completely.
