Pokimane reveals her love for 'Twitter killer' Threads app, fans say 'it's so refreshing'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Instagram’s text-based conversation app Threads is already setting the internet on fire. Amid all of this, Twitch star Imane Anys aka Pokimane recently shared her thoughts on it just a day after the Twitter competitor app was launched.

Catering to Twitch and YouTube, Pokimane's popularity has increased dramatically over the past ten years. She is also very active on Twitter so it seems logical that when Meta debuted Threads on July 5, 2023, she instantly joined the site.

'I already like Threads more than Twitter'

Pokimane expressed her opinions about the platform in a series of posts on Threads, along with one request for her fans. The streamer, who has over nine million Twitch followers, joined Threads as user number 123, which means she joined the app before it was made available to the people at large. Just hours after the site's doors opened, she expressed her opinions about it and stated that it's wonderful to be a part of something new.

“Ngl it’s exciting to be a part of something new, but I’m also a bit scared about how this app will change over the next couple weeks…” she added, before saying, “Let’s keep it fun & wholesome forever, yea?”

The next day, Pokimane was ready with a big revelation! She shared in another post that she is liking Threads more than Twitter. Fellow female creator and YouTube star Valkyrae was quick to agree with Pokimane. "I already like Threads more than Twitter,” Pokimane said.

To which, Valkyrae replied, “Same, it feels so nice here." Others to join the platform include Hasan, KSI, Ludwig, MrBeast, and the list of people joining the Threads app continues to grow.

'I like the vibes here a lot'

Pokimane has already garnered around 304K followers on Threads. Fans were overwhelmed to see their favorite streamer on the platform. A user wrote, "I like the vibes here a lot!" Another wrote, "Same, you can mute ads, 0 politics and bots."

One said, "It's so refreshing to have a brand new app that has no bots, inappropriate, or TRAUMATIZING content." One user wrote, "Twitter? What's that." While one said, "Well if poki's here then so am I."
