Pokémon GO has had various promotions for its Season of Light events. One of them is the Festival of Lights which will run starting 10 a.m. Oct. 14 through 8 p.m. Oct 17. Plenty of illuminating and glowing Pokémon will be out in the wild ready to be researched. The Pokémon Morelull and its evolution Shiinotic will also make their debut in Pokémon GO.

Pokémon GO Festival of Lights explained

During the Festival of Lights, event players can receive bonuses like double experience points and candy for catching Pokémon. Activated incense will also last for two hours which will help complete the field research tasks.

Morelull will be one of the Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild during the Festival of Lights. Catching 50 of them will evolve into a Shiinotic. Morelull will also have a high cause of spawning with activated incense. This will help assist trainers in catching enough for a Shiinotic.

Morelull will also appear in one-star raids and be featured as one of the field research tasks. Completing timed research tasks will reward players with a new sparkler pose emote for their trainer avatar.

Shiny Pokémon hunters will also have a greater chance to catch shiny Chinchou or Lanturn. It is recommended to try to catch wild Pokémon later in the evening since some Pokémon will glow at night. Lucky players might even encounter a Galarian Ponyta or even a Togedemaru.

The Festival of Lights is only one of the many events that will occur during the Season of Light so be sure to stay up to date on the latest info in Pokémon GO.
