In Pokémon GO every month brings a new set of Field Research Tasks for players to complete. Completing a certain amount of Field Research Tasks will reward players with the opportunity to catch the Research Breakthrough Pokémon. There is no shortage of tasks to complete but the bonuses players get can make their efforts worth it. Here are the new Field Research Tasks players will see in Pokémon GO this December.

Catching Tasks

  • Catch Five Pokémon - Swinub, Spheal, and Shellder
  • Catch Three Ice-type Pokémon - Vanillite
  • Use Five Nanab Berries to help catch Pokémon - Weedle and Wurmple

Poké Ball Throwing Tasks

  • Make an Excellent Throw - Scyther

Buddy Tasks

  • Earn Five hearts with your Pokémon buddy - Cottonee
  • Give your buddy Pokémon Three treats - Meditite
  • Send Five Gifts and add a sticker to each gift - Delibird

Battling Tasks

  • Battle in GO Battle League - Swinub, Spheal, and Shellder
  • Purify Three Shadow Pokémon - Carvanha, Poochyena, and Alolan Rattata
  • Win a raid - Sneasel

Miscellaneous Tasks

  • Hatch an Egg - Cryogonal and Mantine
  • Trade a Pokémon - Machoke
  • Take Five snapshots of wild Pokémon - Ralts

Additionally, players can complete 36 other Field Research Tasks that never change throughout the months. These include tasks such as spinning a certain number of PokéStops or Pokémon Gyms.
