Patrick Mahomes is venturing where no NFL player before him has as he'll be featured in the Fortnite Icon Series with custom skins, items and more.
There's no question that Patrick Mahomes has much more left to accomplish in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs. But the truth of the matter is that he's reached every height that a player can already in his career, having captured both a Super Bowl and an NFL MVP award. So the obvious next step is to move into Fortnite, right?
Okay, that might not be the logical trajectory but, while he and the Chiefs are preparing for a new-look offense in another season in which they should contend for the Lombardi Trophy, Mahomes is essentially being honored by the uber-popular video game.
On Monday, Mahomes announced on his social media accounts that he will be the latest athlete and first NFL player to be featured as part of the Fortnite Icon Series that will feature exclusive skins, items and more for the quarterback.
Patrick Mahomes hitting Fortnite as part of Icon Series
Mahomes joins a host of terrific athletes throughout sports that have been featured in this series from Fortnite, including LeBron James, Naomi Osaka and Neymar.
The Chiefs signal-caller is not the first NFL player to be featured in the game in any capacity as Vikings receiver Justin Jefferson was previously featured in the game. However, Mahomes does become the first player from the league to be given the Icon Series treatment.
So if the Arrowhead faithful haven't been in on Fortnite to this point, you might want to change that now. Madden isn't the only place you can play as Mahomes in the virtual world anymore.
