The first Overwatch 2 roadmap was just released, and it confirms that three new heroes have been confirmed for Season 1. On top of the new heroes, there are also new maps, skins, and even a new game mode appearing in Overwatch 2.
The tweet posted by the official Overwatch account confirms that Season 1 will include six new maps, over thirty new skins, a new mythic skin, a battle pass, and a new game mode on top of the three new characters. Of those new characters, the first two are confirmed to be Sojourn, a new damage hero, and Junker Queen, a new tank hero.
Overwatch 2 Roadmap: 3 New Heroes Confirmed for Season 1
On top of the plans for Season 1, the tweet also includes details for Season 2 and beyond. For Season 2, Activision Blizzard is promising a new tank hero, a new map, over twenty new skins, a new mythic skin, and a new battle pass.
Given the announcement that Overwatch 2 will be free to play, the new battle pass structure seems more in line with similar big titles, such as League of Legends and Valorant. The free-to-play structure should incentivize Activision Blizzard to continue creating new content for Overwatch 2, which will be needed if the game wants to regain relevancy.
