An Apex Legends Easter egg dedicated to the fan-favorite Nessie has been discovered in the Gun Run limited-time mode.
Stretching back to the original Titanfall, the Loch Ness Monster has routinely appeared in Respawn Entertainment games. In Apex Legends, that's meant jokes, Easter eggs and actual merch.
With the recent launch of the Beast of Prey Collection Event, it appears Respawn has laid a fresh Nessie Easter Egg for players to discover in Apex Legends' Gun Run LTM.
At the start of the LTM, Gun Run normally divides players into one of the following teams: Bear, Eagle, Tiger and Wolf.
Per a tweet published Sept. 20 by @Doomed_Squizard, however, some players are given the opportunity to represent the Nessie Squad in Gun Run.
About a day later, Respawn senior technical experience designer Justin Masse quote tweeted the clip, mentioning that they had been waiting for someone to get this "super rare" Easter egg they added.
When asked how to get chosen to be on Nessie Squad, Masse replied that it's determined by a random roll on game start. More specifically, it's a 1 in 1,000 chance that a lobby has a Nessie Squad instead of a Wolf Squad and a 1 in 4 chance that it's your squad that gets picked.
As such, it appears that it's certainly rare indeed to ever come across the Easter egg, especially since the Gun Run mode itself can be rotated in and out as Respawn pleases.
