Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is introducing four new maps with Season 2.
The Call of Duty Staff recently published a blog that further revealed the new content coming to Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2. Ranked Play will finally hit Modern Warfare 2, and a half-dozen modes, such as Infected, Gun Game, and Grind will be available to play at launch.
The big news for multiplayer though, are the new maps coming with the update. Here's a breakdown of what to expect from the four locations set across Al Mazrah and Spain.
Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 New Maps: Full List
Dome (Core Map)
Featured in previous Call of Duty games, Dome is back as a multiplayer map. Located at the highest point in Al Mazrah, the map contains three main buildings surrounded by a street area.
The domed structure will have a small catwalk that is perfect for players to look down at approaching enemies, but its metal grates can easily be shot through.
Valderas Museum (Core Map)
Valderas Museum is making its return to Modern Warfare 2. It was a playable map in the Beta, but due to copyright issues, the map never launched with Season 1.
As a larger 6v6 map, Valderas Museum will feature plenty of medium and long-range gunfights.
Zaya Observatory (Battle Map)
Al Mazrah's tallest POI will be featured in Ground War and Invasion modes. It will consist of the science facility and adjacent cliff sides.
Vehicles can cut off mountain side routes and other roads to the facility, forcing players to navigate the buildings or sprint across open terrains.
Al Malik International (Battle Map)
Al Mazrah's airport will also be available to play in Ground War and Invasion modes. The map will encompass the tarmac and the main airport building.
Players can take the roof for the best angles, and there is plenty of space for vehicles to navigate the familiar POI.
Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 launces on Feb. 15.
