Swirlix, the 684th Pokémon in the PokéDex, otherwise known as the Cotton Candy Pokémon, was created in the image of the popular treat. It was introduced in Pokémon X and Y as one of the new fairy-type Pokémon, along with several others.
This type is crucial to combatting the ever-so-pesky dragon-type specifically.
How to Evolve Swirlix in Pokemon GO
To evolve Swirlix into Slurpuff, players will need to make the Pokémon their buddy and feed it 25 berries, this can be done by going to "Quick Treats", on the buddy Pokémon's page. It's worth noting these berries can be any of the ones available in the game, as long as it is given 25 of them. Feeding Swirlix the 25 berries can be done at the player's leisure, but it is crucial in the evolution process for the Pokémon regardless.
Finally, give it 50 candies and the player will see their fluffy Swirlix evolve into the Meringue Pokémon, Slurpuff.
This contrasts the evolution method Swirlix requires when it's in-game, where it must be traded holding a Whipped Dream, a special item that was also released in generation six. Since this item cannot be attained in Pokémon GO, naturally the method had to be amended, while making sure this candy Pokémon's food motif was still incorporated.
Swirlix was released with its counterpart Spritzee, the Perfume Pokémon, among others, at the start of the Luminous Legends X event, which started May 4, 2021.
