Fortnite developer Epic Games is doing yet another collaboration this month. The global battle royale sensation is crossing over with the popular anime series Dragon Ball Super following a surprise announcement. Here's what we know about Fortnite's crossover with Dragon Ball Super so far.
It's not the first time Fortnite has crossed over with Dragon Ball. In August 2022, the two franchises collided with their first crossover event, which featured new quests, cosmetics and the iconic Kamehameha power. Fans of both series were excited to see them combine into one, but not every element of Dragon Ball was adapted, leaving some characters and concepts out of Fortnite - until now.
Fortnite x Dragon Ball Super Crossover Teased for Jan. 31
In a surprise tweet, Fortnite developers Epic Games teased a second crossover with Dragon Ball, this time focusing on spinoff series Dragon Ball Super. The tweet caption only provides a date for the crossover to begin: Jan. 31, 2023, and a picture of a military airplane flying over Fortnite's island.
The symbols on the plane match those of the Red Ribbon Army, a faction in the Dragon Ball universe, causing some speculation about what this means for Fortnite. Players are no doubt hoping iconic characters absent from the original crossover event are present in this second collaboration.
In addition to the Dragon Ball Super crossover event happening on Jan. 31, players can also participate in The Kid LAROI event and compete in The Kid LAROI Cup tournament for even more exclusive themed cosmetics.
