Black Friday is an annual FIFA Ultimate Team promotion which traditionally marks the start of promotional pack lightning rounds, some sort of special card and a Best of TOTW so far. Since the World Cup is ongoing, Black Friday this year will have a World Cup tie-in featuring a new card type and the first set of Campaign Icons. The latter is a new addition to FIFA Ultimate Team after EA Sports removed Prime Icon Moments as a card type in FUT.

FIFA 23 Black Friday will feature a special Road to the FIFA World Cup promotional set. The card type is indicated in the loading screen with the purple themed card. Exactly what this promotional team will focus on remains a mystery, but some expect it to highlight players who were standouts for their countries on the road to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. A bit strange considering the World Cup is well underway.
As well, FIFA World Cup Icons will be released in packs. The first two World Cup Icons were announced in Swaps with Patrick Vieira and Cafu.

As well, FIFA 23 Black Friday should include a Best of TOTW squad highlighting the best in-form items released so far this FUT cycle.
When are FIFA 23 Lightning Rounds?
Based on past FIFA titles, the first FIFA 23 Lightning Round should kick off Friday, Nov. 25 at the start of Road to the World Cup at 1 p.m. ET.
