The original Pokemon Snap is now available on Nintendo Switch Online, joining the service's catalog of Nintendo 64 games.
In what will be seen as a welcome addition to the service, Pokemon Snap has made its way to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack library. This marks the first time the original has been given a re-release since 2016 for the Wii U's Virtual Console.
Pokemon Snap, which released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64, sees players take on the role of Pokemon photographer who was summoned to Pokemon Island by Professor Oak. It's the players job to explore the island and take photographs of the wild Pokemon to go alongside Professor Oak's scientific research. The game features 63 of the original 151 Pokemon.
With Pokemon Snap being a Nintendo 64 game, only those who have subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will gain access to the game. It joins a growing library which contains classic N64 games such as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Mario Kart 64.
Nintendo's Expansion Pack also provides subscribers to access to select DLC, such as Animal Crossing New Horizon's Happy Home Paradise DLC, Booster Course Pack for Mario Kart 8, and Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion. All DLC requires purchase of the base game in order to gain access.
