Bethesda having been giving fans more glimpses of upcoming co-op FPS, Redfall.

Redfall, developed by Arkane Studios Austin and published by Bethesda, is an upcoming co-op FPS where players a pitted against deadly vampiric enemies. Set in the fictional town of Redfall, Massachusetts, four survivors have found themselves trapped by the vampire threat and must pull out all the stops in order to take down enemies.

While Redfall isn't scheduled to release until 2023, Bethesda have been sharing glimpses of some of the game's features, including the variety of enemies players will encounter. One particularly gruesome opponent is the Bloodbag.

According to the official Redfall Twitter account, the Bloodbag is an enemy which uses its form to store up blood an offer it to the vampires. It would "rather die in a gory explosion than let a single drop fall into enemy hands." Judging from this description, it seems Bloodbags will be dealing an area-of-effect attack, causing themselves to explode and damage anyone standing too close.

Their appearance is also pretty disturbing, sporting large, blood-filled pustules over their bodies. Taped around them is a long puffer-like coat, buttoned and half-draped over raggedy garments.

Working together is the best way to survive anything that Redfall can throw at you. “If you decide to play with friends, sticking together will be essential for survival,” explains Co-Creative Director Ricardo Bare. “The heroes are stronger as a group and the vampire threat ramps up as more players join the game. Running off on your own is the quickest way to get snatched and killed.”
