Best Early Prime Day 2023 TV Deals

When it comes to TV deals, most of us know that Black Friday and Super Bowl season are the two best times to find a great discount on a new TV. Rounding out the top three, however, is Prime Day. Even though the Amazon-centric buying event hasn't been formally announced, we’re already seeing strong deals on TVs you can grab now.

As usual, we expect to see big savings on Amazon Fire TVs as well as Fire TV streaming sticks. But now that Roku is manufacturing its own TVs as well, expect to see it get in on the savings alongside usual TV makers like LG, Samsung, and Hisense. No matter what size of screen you’re looking for, expect to see savings across the board. Last year we saw sales on screens as big as 85 inches, but most of the deals will probably be in the 32- to 65-inch ranges.

No matter what size screen you buy, you’ll probably want to make sure that it’s in a 4K resolution (1080p screens are still out there, but you might as well get the sharpest one worth watching). OLED screens will be pricier thanks to their stronger, sharper colors and high contrast ratios but mini-LED or QLED still offer great picture clarity at a more approachable price point. Gamers will want to make sure a high refresh rate is built in as well, ideally 120Hz if it’s available.

Since Prime Day deals are restricted to Prime members, it’s also worth noting that a major perk of a Prime account is Prime Video, which is home to thousands of shows as well as an increasing amount of live sports like Thursday Night Football. Whatever screen you buy, make sure the Prime TV app is an early download.

48-Inch LG C2 Evo OLED 4K TV

The LG C2 is one of the best OLED TVs on the market. It has four HDMI 2.1 ports and a 48-inch OLED panel that supports true 4K @ 120Hz passthrough when paired with a next-gen console like the PS5 or Xbox Series X. The variable refresh rate (VRR) allows the display to change its refresh rate to match that of the connected input to really take advantage of your console’s powerful processor. Non-gamers will also be impressed by the smooth frame rate and image quality when watching high-octane action scenes and sports championships.

55-Inch Amazon Fire TV 4-Series 4K Smart TV

If Alexa already rules your smart home setup, the Amazon Fire TV is a no-brainer. This 4K smart TV can be controlled hands-free via your voice assistant thanks to the included Fire TV Alexa Voice Remote and will easily connect with Echo speakers for surround sound. The home hub includes over 1 million movies and TV shows in one place with access to your favorite streaming services, like Netflix and Disney+.

The Fire TV Omni Series has been further enhanced with features like the Fire TV ambient experience and 4K QLED resolution, but has a price tag to match, so it really comes down to the features you need most.

85-Inch Sony X85K 4K HDR Google TV

This Sony Bravia X85K series television checks the boxes for most users looking for a mixed usage TV. If you own a next-generation gaming console like the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, this is great for gaming since it supports 4K resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rates with the latest generation HDMI 2.1 port. It also has exclusive features for the PlayStation 5 console to improve gaming picture quality for an already fantastic console. The 120Hz native refresh rate panel also offers smooth fluid movement for sports or action scenes and, coupled with an expansive 85-inch screen size, is perfect for movie nights.
