Apex Legends Dev is Aware of Negative Feedback for Gold Knockdown Shield

Apex Legends developer John “JayBiebs” Larson started a Twitter feed asking the community "what's hitting and what's not?" This was after a week of late grinding of ranked Apex Legends. It was no surprise that a lot of the replies were focusing on the Gold Knockdown shield.

And based on the reply from Larson, Respawn is looking for some type of fix. "Self-rez feedback heard loud and clear." Gold Knockdown shields with a self-revive have been around for some time, and haven't really been brought up as a problem since this last season.

It does feel like they're more powerful than before, but Phillip “ImperialHal” Dosen brought up a good point.

"People brought up the only reason why they are a problem is due to the influx of gold items from the armories where majority of the time you get 2/3 from them so maybe tweak that instead? idk."

There has been an increase in gold items, especially in the armories. This could be the reason why players are frustrated with the revive mechanic now. Suddenly, running into multiple enemy squads with a gold knockdown shield can be exhausting. So Respawn may just try to decrease the number of shields total than actually messing with the mechanic.
